How to Play Sudoku
- Pick a cell, pick a number. Tap an empty square, then a number on the pad — or just use your keyboard.
- One of each. Every row, every column and every outlined box must contain each number exactly once.
- Notes. Turn on Notes to pencil in the candidate numbers for a tricky cell.
- Hint. Stuck? A hint fills in one correct number to keep you moving.
- Auto-saved. Leave any time — your board is saved and resumes right where you left off.
Fill every row, column and box with each number exactly once. Tap a cell, then a number. Use notes for candidates and a hint when you're stuck.
About Sudoku
Sudoku is the world's most popular number-logic puzzle. You're given a grid partly filled with numbers, and your job is to complete it so that every row, every column and every outlined box contains each number exactly once. There's no maths and no guessing — every puzzle is solved with pure deduction. On WishnPlay you can play Sudoku online for free, instantly, with no download and no sign-up.
Pick the difficulty that suits you on the start screen: a gentle 4×4 (2×2 boxes) that's perfect for beginners and kids, a middle-ground 6×6 (2×3 boxes), or the classic 9×9 (3×3 boxes) for the full challenge. Every board is freshly generated and guaranteed to have a single unique solution — so you'll never play the same puzzle twice.

Sudoku tips & strategy
- Scan for singles. Look for a row, column or box that's almost full — often only one number can go in the last empty cell.
- Work the boxes. Pick a number and see which boxes still need it; cross out rows and columns where it already appears to pin down its spot.
- Use notes. When a cell has several candidates, pencil them all in — the answer often becomes obvious as you fill neighbours.
- Never guess. Every puzzle here has one logical solution. If you're tempted to guess, there's usually a deduction you've missed.
- Start small. New to Sudoku? Warm up on the 4×4 and 6×6 grids before taking on the classic 9×9.
