About Wend
Wend is a relaxing word puzzle game built around a grid of letters with several hidden words winding through it. Unlike a straight-line word search, each word in Wend bends and turns from tile to tile, so you uncover it by tracing a connected path across the board. Every letter belongs to exactly one word, and the level is solved once you've found them all. It's a calm, satisfying brain teaser you can play free in your browser on WishnPlay.
With a fresh layout each level and an endless run of puzzles to work through, Wend is perfect for a quiet few minutes — no timer pressure, just you and the satisfying click of another hidden word falling into place.
How to play Wend
- Look over the grid and spot letters that could begin a word.
- Trace a word by dragging across connected tiles — up, down, left or right — following where the word bends.
- Each correct word lights up and locks into place, showing the path it took through the grid.
- Some words are compound — join two highlighted parts by tracing across the seam between them.
- Find every hidden word to clear the level, then move on to the next one.
Direction matters: a word has to be traced the way it reads, so if a path won't take, try following it from the other end.
Controls
- Click & drag On a computer, press and drag across the tiles to draw a word.
- Swipe On a phone or tablet, swipe your finger along the letters.
Lift your finger or release the mouse to submit the word you've traced.
Wend tips & tricks
- Start with the short words. Three- and four-letter words are quicker to spot and free up the grid for the longer ones.
- Follow the bends. A word rarely runs in a straight line — let your eye turn corners as you read.
- Use the leftovers. Once most tiles are claimed, the remaining letters often spell the final word on their own.
- Look for prefixes and endings. Common starts and tails like re-, -ing or -ed hint at where a word goes.
- Trace the other way. If a path won't lock in, the same letters may read correctly from the opposite end.
