All the cards start face down. Every picture appears on exactly two cards.
Turn over one card, then a second. Two cards is one move.
If they match, they stay face up for good.
If they don’t, you get a moment to look — then they turn back over. Remember where they were.

Tips & tricks

Memory game tips to earn three stars

Work in order. Turn cards row by row instead of at random — it’s far easier to remember “third row, second card” than a scattered board.
Always turn a new card first. Your first card of a move should be one you haven’t seen. If it matches something you remember, you get a free pair.
Say it out loud. Naming the picture (“cat, top left”) uses a second kind of memory and makes it stick.
Don’t waste the second card. If your first card is new and you don’t know its partner, turn another unseen card rather than one you’ve already seen.
Start small. Six Pairs is a quick warm-up; Eighteen Pairs is a real test of brain training memory.
